It’s a special episode of the Framework podcast as host Jamie Hopkins and Carson Group founder Ron Carson celebrate the launch of their new book Find Your Freedom: Financial Planning for a Life on Purpose.

They developed the book to help people envision and ultimately realize what life can be like if they don’t have to worry about money – one of the key barriers to personal freedom.

In today’s episode, Jamie welcomes Ron and the contributors who helped inform the book, including Jamie Carroll, Managing Partner at Carson Wealth Management; Marques Ogden, business coach, corporate consultant and host of the podcast Get Authentic With Marques Show; Kellan Brown, Vice President Strategic Partnerships at Finance of America Reverse; and Jacqueline “JaQ” Campbell, President, CEO and Senior Wealth Advisor at Alexander Legacy Private Wealth Management.

Jamie asks everyone what freedom means to them and what they are focusing on to realize that freedom. The answers are insightful and inspiring.

For Ron, freedom is “the ability to live an authentic, frictionless life that allows you to express yourself in the way your soul was meant to be.”

For Jamie, freedom means “I am using my time and resources in ways that let me enjoy my life every day and that are going to leave a memory.”

Marques defines freedom as “the ability to do what I want, when I want, with whom I want.”

Kellan sees freedom in terms of parenthood and being able to let go of the fears she has for her young children. What does financial freedom mean to you?

Key Takeaways

  • Financial freedom is personal freedom.
  • Real financial planning means looking at every facet of a person’s life to help them reach the highest level of legacy they can achieve and leave.
  • There is always another level of freedom that you can have and express.

Quote

“When I think of freedom, I think of the freedom that comes with peace of mind, body, soul, spirit and money in the bank.” – Jacqueline “JaQ” Campbell
