Aaron Schaben

Divisional President, Partners

About Aaron

Growing up in Columbus, Nebraska, Aaron Schaben was exposed to the entrepreneurial life from a very early age. His parents had moved from Kansas when he was just nine months old, and taking a leap of faith, they started a small agricultural business with just $100 in their pockets. Eventually, one location grew to three, and they became known for distributing quality products and delivering exceptional service.

It was these formative years, tagging alongside his dad on sales calls and observing his mom work her magic around the office, which gave Aaron a true appreciation for salt-of-the-earth men and women who made their family businesses their life. He loved being around people who were passionate about their jobs and about helping others. That feeling has never worn off.

Today, Aaron is able to invest his time and energy into assisting hardworking advisors in growing their businesses. Having started his career as an advisor at Carson Wealth, he understands the unique challenges and opportunities facing this profession. Since assuming his current role of Divisional President, Partners, Aaron has been focused on positively impacting more than 48,000 households across the country by serving both advisors and their end clients. Each day he is motivated by one thought: Do well by doing good.

Aaron looks forward to being part of the next phase of evolution for Carson. He strives to find innovative solutions to the problems that plague our industry and relishes the opportunity to put together a team that will transform our vision of financial services into a reality. While he is very excited about the ways the firm can reinvent technology and reimagine the client experience, at his core, Aaron is still his parent’s son. Whether farming supplies or sound financial advice, it’s all about helping people build the life they want.

Aaron graduated summa cum laude from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He has completed two levels of the CFA® program. Additionally, he holds the securities registration 66 with CWM, LLC. A recipient of the 2020 Midlands Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award, Aaron remains active in the Omaha community through his participation in the Creighton Business Symposium, the Portfolio Practicum Class, the Financial Planning Association and the Financial Management Association. He is also a member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and is involved with the Dreamweaver Foundation.

Aaron has become a much sought-after speaker for industry events. His advice on engaging millennials in the financial services industry is unparalleled. Because of this experience, he has been featured at Barron’s Independent Advisor Conference as a leader who knows how to leverage the next generation of talent, at Carson’s Excell Conference and at Orion Advisor Services/FUSE’s Inaugural “Tech’s Got Talent” as a judge. He has received multiple accolades, including being named one of InvestmentNews’ 40 Under 40 and leading Carson as a five-time participant in Inc.’s annual list of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies as well as one of the top companies in the Midwest. Aaron is regularly quoted in top industry media publications, including InvestmentNews, Wealth Management, ThinkAdvisor, Citywire and Barron’s.

Outside of work, you’ll find him spending time with his wife, their three sons, and two black Labradors. He’s an avid outdoorsman who enjoys biking, hunting and, of course, playing catch with the kids. If you receive his out of office email response, you can assume his family is traveling, as they spend time each year in Colorado, taking in the mountains.
